The Summerhill
The Summerhill is a labour of love and a profound respect for place. Sixty-two residences rise above a restored heritage streetwall at Yonge and Birch. This is the final chapter of a story Woodcliffe has been writing here for three decades.

The Location
1196-1210 Yonge Street & 2-8 Birch Avenue
Some corners in Toronto carry their own weather. This is one of them. You step out the door and the clock tower of the North Toronto Station is right there. Woodcliffe restored that building, and the Summerhill LCBO beside it, more than twenty years ago.
Summerhill Station is across the street. So your mornings can start slow. Coffee first, then a short walk to the train, or no train at all. The Five Thieves shops are a few doors south. Harvest Wagon for produce. Olliffe for the butcher counter. The small rituals of a day, all within a block.
Turn east and you find the ravine. The trails through the Vale of Avoca feel a world away from Yonge Street, yet they sit minutes from your lobby. This is the rare address that gives you the city and the quiet in the same breath.

The Building
The street side keeps the neighbourhood's old character. The heritage facades along Yonge are preserved, not faked. Above them, architects-Alliance has placed a tower that is clearly of today. The two ideas hold hands instead of arguing.
Inside, Gluckstein Design handles the interiors. Ceilings reach ten feet. Expansive terraces stretch out from the homes, and the landscape work by Claude Cormier + Associates carries green up and into the building.
Sixty-two homes across thirty-two storeys. That is a small number for a building this tall. It means quieter halls, fewer elevators to share, and the comfort and privacy of a home lifted by unprecedented views and real service.

The Builder
Woodcliffe Landmark Properties
Who builds a place matters as much as where it sits. For over three decades, Woodcliffe has made a direct impact on Summerhill's architectural legacy. The restoration of the historic Summerhill LCBO. The revitalisation of the Shops of Summerhill.
The Summerhill is the final chapter of that vision, the work that helped define the neighbourhood's character. It is a collaboration between Woodcliffe, architects-Alliance, Gluckstein Design, and Claude Cormier + Associates.
It is crafted and curated with the same care they give to the preservation of a beloved landmark. Every detail has been considered and designed to endure for generations.
